Maria Protsepova breaks through on the most successful day ever for Mount Pleasant Juniors at the Anytime Fitness Irish Junior Open 2017

Mount Pleasant: The most successful club at the Irish Junior Open.
Proud of the Mount Pleasant Juniors who excelled in numbers at the Anytime Fitness Irish Junior Open today.
Special congratulations to Maria Protsepova who after years of hidden promise finally broke through and took the Girls U13 title- at last I will not ever have to say ‘zip the lip and open your face ever again’ (an in-house joke Maria talked for ireland for over 5 years!) and what about Mount Pleasant’s dominant U13 Boys with a clean sweep of podium finishes for Jack O’Flynn, Sean Murphy and Elliot Kelly, taking 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively and pushing each other hard for each position.
Denis Gilevskiy our most prolific medalist who took the U15B title this year after winning the U13’s for the past 3 years. Probably a record in itself!
Well done to Naomi Nohar who returned to her natural home to represent her old club Mount Pleasant and meet up with the gang she first learned her Squash with Naomi took Silver in the U15G.
We had other players in this tournament who could have also easily featured as prize winners well done to all.
This was a special day for Mount Pleasant, dominating the lower age groups in this tournament, proving again that with a bunch of dedicated volunteers, decent facilities and a great group of kids and parents what can be achieved. These players mentioned above are the current crop of super (squad) high achievers. We can’t wait until we unleash the group of talent coming up behind them!
